Psychotherapy, on the other hand, is usually longer term and addresses more general issues of repeated patterns, how you may have been affected by your past experiences, transforming the unconscious into awareness, and building on your inner qualities to help you live life to the full. Counselling and psychotherapy can be interchangeable, and they both have their own merits and benefits.
